Microman SUPERMAN (Comic Ver.)

SUPERMAN SERIES

Ever since the release of the excellent Batman figure for Micro Action line back in 2004, fans have been looking forward for more DC comic characters to appear as Microman figure. In 2006, with the release of the new Superman movie, Takara produce four figures for Micro Action line from Superman series including movie version, comic version, Supergirl and Takara own Cyborg Superman.

MICROMAN MUSCLE BODY

For Superman Comic version, Takara introduces yet another new body type to the Microman series. The new type is dubbed "Microman Muscle Body". The new body is much larger and taller than all the other Microman bodies. The body construction curiously is a mixture between the old body style (Full Action Body) with that of the recent new Smart Body type. The neck part is on separate pivoting piece and the feet uses the same joint design and peg insert system as the Smart Body but the rest of the body used the old body design. The strangest part about the figure is the used of the old "cuff" style hands for the body. I was thinking that Takara had finally abandoned the cuff design, but curiously it was introduce back into this Muscle Body. There are 5 extra hands set to interchange with the closed-fists that pack with the figure. The extra hands in reality offer only three new poses; grip hands, trigger hands and open hands. The 2 extra hands are different articulation of the grip and trigger hands (one up and down motion, while the other is side to side).

SUPERMAN COMIC

Microman Superman Comic with the new Muscle Body is a very nice representation of the comic book version. The new Muscle Body is very nice replacement for the "Massive Body" with the new "muscle" legs and larger arms and torso to represent a really large body (like comic book Superman). There are however several glaring problems with this figure that prevent it from being great figure. First is the strange use of dark blue / light blue highlight paint job on the body which are also done very sloppily and really detract from the figure. Second is the head and neck part, the sculpt is passable as Superman but the strange grin just make the head a it goofy looking and the head is slightly too small for the large neck. Third is not the problem with this particular figure but with the "Muscle Body" used of the old cuff hand design. The cuffs hand design was in part homage to the old Microman (Original 1970's series) however the cuff just did not work too well as the hands tended to slip off easily and the cuffs section have to be painted to match the body in some case (such as this Superman figure) and that really detracted from the figure. I am not sure why the Muscle Body reverse back to the cuff style, it could be that the figure was design during the transition from the old body type and the new one. I think Takara would be better off if they would just molded new forearm section of they want "cuff" look for the figure and should just use the "plug" style hands for all the figures as they are superior both in look and functionality than the "cuff" version.

RF Online Philippines

Hello there, ive been playing this certain MMORPG (Massive Multiplyaer Online Role Playing Game... whew) called RF Online or Rising Force, its been out for quite some time now, anyways, its a very unique game considering the fact that there are tons of other online games already available locally here in the Philippines, but this one made me turn around and look at its craftiness and suave, hehe, cant think of the words right now.

Ok so lets start with story, conventional RPG has a story that needs to stand out above the rest, so that it can be distinctive, and also it needs to burn the fire the player craves for into the game, RF Online has a story that tells about 3 war driven factions, the Accretian Empire, the Bellato Union, and the Cora Holy Alliance, and the ultimate price.. the Crag Mine, solely guarded by none other that the Halostone Keeper, war rages on every 1pm, 9pm and 5am (that is local time for us people) that war is called the Chip War, everytime a race wins that war, and was able to deliver the chip to the keeper, a good 7 hours is given to them by the keeper to mine inside the very heart of the mining area and the best thing about it is that they are well protected by the keeper itself.

CLOUD AND FENRIR *updated 10/23*

Last Saturday i got this Final Fantasy Advent Children Figure from Ham, a seller at BIDSHOT.COM, It's a full scale version of Cloud and his bike the FENRIR, and you know how much this Collectible is? haha! SECRET! Today im going to tell you all about this nice thing, its positive and negative side, articulation, posability, etc. havent got clear pics, but i'll provide some from the net, so heres my impression about this collectible:

P
ackaging : Man, the freakin' thing is huge, even if you dont open the goods, the box has all of its sides open so that you could see the insides with no hassle, it's a good thing coz if you are not planning in displaying it outside of the box, many could still admire it while boxed up, the only problem i got with the box is the fact that its easy to get damages from the sides, what i could suggest is that try to cover it up with a clear plastic and place it on safe rack, all in all its a good deal for the box..

Figure/Articulation/Representation: The figure itself, Cloud Stri
fe, is already a good deal, if you've seen FFVII:AC, this is a dead-on likeness of our main protagonist, so its a good thumbs up for our hero here, articulation is good though, but limited, it could have been nice to see the torso a bit more articulated, just like the figures on the Marvel Legends Line up, still you would be able to pose Cloud with all his glory. The representation is already a perfect one for me, if only the makers of this collectible included the whole assortment of Clouds First Tsurugi (translated as "First Sword" in English) then this would be the ultimate bad-ass toy... hope they make an assortment.

Bear with me, my shot are a bit way off, im using my MOTOROLA V3i!!

Overall impression: I recommend this to all that loves FFVII:AC, though there are some minor setbacks, its still the best collectible that represented this one of a kind hero, also try to look up for the other PLAY ARTS Figures, i'll post them as soon as i get each and one of them!

Oh and by the way, a friend of mine informed me this, BEWARE of
BOOTLEG versions of this toys, if you are going to buy in COMIC ALLEY, COMIC ODDYSSEY, DATAVENTURE, look at the figures thouroughly, if you are uncertain about the figures that you are looking, check the figures itself, loose part s, different color scheme, remember guys, japanese toys are so into details and paints, so please be ahead and use your brain, if you are not satisfied by the looks then dont buy it, i do recommend going to Virra Mall San Juan, but i am not assuring any particular store but Vira Mall would be a safe bet to get the originals, ok guys?

Also try BIDSHOT.COM!!
